This is something that we feel very strongly about and that everyone should take seriously.
You may not have noticed but we’ve been beavering away researching and testing all the very latest techniques and tricks in web design and digital marketing (and of course working hard on customers' projects!). The good news for you is we’re back to share with you what we’ve found and how you and your business can use our hard work to get the most from your own website and marketing campaigns.
But, and this is a biggie, before we start let’s address the subject of the moment – Internet Security. This is something that we feel very strongly about and that everyone should take seriously.
Given what has happened recently with the NHS, security isn't something that should be put on the back burner or forgotten about. Without the correct security procedures in place your website, your customers and their information are vulnerable.
The recent security breaches, not just with the NHS but other major organisations, prove that putting other things ahead of security in the priority list leaves you vulnerable to a cyber attack. So if you want to keep your website, your customers and their information safe you have to do the same as you do with the children, wrap them in steel lined cotton wool!
When did you last check with your hosts what security they have for your emails and website? We have put a couple of useful links below; one for the National Cyber Security Centre where you can check if your host is signed up to, and the other for Google's Transparency Report to find out your site status. If you don't understand the result it might come back with then please get in touch and we will help you out.
On the National Cyber Security Centre site there is valuable guidance information about the recent 'WannaCry' ransomware and how you can protect your company from an attack, and what to do if you have been infected.
Whilst using these tools on their own won’t make you safe it’s start for you to take Internet Security seriously. If you would like to discuss security of websites and how we look after our customers sites please get in touch firstname.lastname@example.org
