It’s never easy coming up with the next idea, or what you can do next to improve the service you offer to your prospects and customers. We certainly spend some time deliberating over just this kind of thing.
So, to help offer up some food for thought, and perhaps provide something that sparks an idea for your own business, we’re doing regular spotlights on some great things we’ve been asked to do by our customers. It’s not that we expect you to want exactly the same, far from it, but it may just trigger an idea that could turn out to be as good for your business as these projects will be for these customers’ businesses.
This month were looking at how we were able to significantly reduce the amount of time Erik would spend visiting prospects to quote for business. Erik runs WHG Removals, a house removals business.
Much of his time was spent driving from house to house to assess what needed to be moved, and then provide a quote the next day. Not only was this travelling very time consuming, being a manual system it was quite intensive managing who had received which quote, so when the customer called to discuss it Erik and his team knew what they were talking about.
Wanting this to change Erik approached us to build an online quote system that was easy to use, especially on a mobile or tablet device, and allowed a customer to easily go round their house, room by room, listing which items they had. This project then expanded to include a quote management system that allowed easy tracking of every quote, and also included taking deposit payments online.
Not only does this mean Erik spends less time travelling, it has the added benefit that his prospective customers can get a quote whenever it suits them, even if that’s 3am Sunday morning. It also means Erik and his team can now manage these quotes online wherever they may be.
